Milwaukee History
Milwaukee was founded in 1924 by A.F. Siebert around the “Hole-Shooter”,
the first lightweight, portable, one-handed 1/4" capacity drill. The Company
continued its reputation as an innovator by designing a unique, space-efficient
Right-Angle Drill in 1949, the first self-contained portable electric hacksaw,
the Sawzall® reciprocating saw in 1951, and the Hole-Hawg® high-torque
drill in 1970, all of which became the industry standard for contractors. After
1-1/2 years of rigorous testing, the Super Sawzall® reciprocating saw was
introduced in 1991 with an industry leading 10 amps and 0 – 3200 SPM.
